Support and Logistics Manager

Location: Exeter or Bodmin covering the SWW Operational Region

Business Area: Kier Utilities and Rail - South West Water

Permanent, Full time 45 hours a week

Kier has a long-standing relationship with South West Water spanning over 25 years. We're delighted that we've recently been reappointed to the Network Services Alliance (NSA) Framework, a new network repairs and maintenance and developer services contract, that starts in April 2020 for up to eight years.

Kier and SWW, as an Alliance, have high ambitions for our new service; to deliver an industry leading Customer Experience to the 1.8 million customers that South West Water serve.

We are looking to recruit a Support & Logistics Manager for the Network Service Alliance. This is a new and exciting opportunity that will require you to assist in the establishment, development and growth of the site support function by enabling the team to successfully meet the challenges that lie ahead. You will report to the Networks and Customer Manager and are responsible for leading a team of frontline managers and supervisors to carry out all site support activities on the Alliance workstreams such as backfilling, reinstatement, barriers, vacuum excavators and stores.

Role Objective:

Design, build and implement an efficient and robust site support hub function on the Network Service Alliance
Lead and inspire a team of site support managers and supervisors to deliver a consistent & qualitative service to stakeholders
Lead a team of direct and sub contract site resources to provide a safe, effective and efficient delivery model to meet demand.
Drive backfill, reinstatement and barrier operations to consistently demonstrate behaviours and processes that deliver a leading customer experience
Lead reinstatement operations to meet performance against legislative and contract performance indicators.
Aid in the ideation and implementation of Reinstatement strategies.
Overall responsibility for reinstatement NRSWA compliance within the area.
Responsible for the co-ordination of photograph and system compliance for backfill, reinstatement and site clearance activities.
Co-ordination of site inspections with local Highway Authorities
Ensure all employees are up to date of any changes to, and the cost implications of non- compliance of, the NRSWA legislation.
Represent the department and Alliance members positively in council / client and internal meetings.Key Accountabilities:

Provides a working environment where safety is key consideration above all else
Drives quality improvements to ensure NRSWA compliance within KPI's
Manage O Licence compliance
Manage resources to ensure we have right levels to meet demands efficiently
Work with Commercial team to understand spend against budget and identify areas to drive efficiency.
Monitor and record the 1st time perm ratio to ensure compliance against targets.
Lead the area with defect escalation, coring disputes with highways
Work closely with your peers and client to ensure your team is providing the best possible service at all times
Identify and implement training needs for the site support teams
Facilitate post training requirements and audits
Engage with suppliers on new / current materials and share best practices for the Alliance.
Work towards smarter end to end process with backfill, reinstatement and site clearance to reduce road occupationEssential

Ability to lead on the provision of excellent Customer Service (internal and external) for all site support activities
Experience of managing O License compliance
Excellent knowledge of NRSWA, SROH, WRAP legislation and initiatives
Able to develop long term strategies and implementing them to deliver excellent results.
NRSWA Qualification
A Level or equivalent qualification
