We are looking for an experienced Sustainable Travel Manager to join the University and deliver customer focused, accessible and sustainable travel improvements to increase opportunities for staff, students and local community to travel to the University by public transport, walking and cycling, facilitating behaviour change, and reducing reliance on single-occupancy cars.

With over 1500 parking bays with a daily charging system, electric vehicle charging points, lift share scheme along with a cycling infrastructure and public travel partnerships we are looking for a proactive person with enthusiasm for sustainable travel and committed to both managing and improving sustainable travel. Key purpose:
The key purpose of this post is to lead in growing a culture of sustainable travel embedded throughout the University, where everyone is actively involved in reducing their transport emissions, specifically:
" Deliver and promote sustainable travel Plans to increase opportunities for staff, students and local community to travel to the University by public transport, walking and cycling, facilitating behaviour change, and reducing reliance on single-occupancy cars
" Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to align competing priorities and deliver customer focused, accessible and sustainable travel improvements in line with the University`s Travel Plan.

Qualifications required for post:
Educated to a degree level or equivalent professional qualification, or exceptionally, qualified through significant practical experience.

Experience required for post:
Significant experience in managing transport and environmental travel support
services
" Experience of travel management with emphasis on producing high quality Travel Plans, parking management solutions and active travel promotion as well as successful partnership working
" Experience and understanding of best practice in promoting sustainable travel in the Higher Education, Public sector or other operation of similar size and complexity
" Experience of people management and team development
Key skills:
" Demonstrable commitment to the promotion of sustainable travel.
" Proven negotiation and and influencing skills with a strong track record of driving change with both internal and external stakeholders
" Proven leadership and motivational skills - ability to share enthusiasm for sustainable travel with others and articulate to a wide audience, often handling conflicting priorities.
" Persuasive report writing skills - demonstrable ability to provide information in a suitable format and adjust the level of content to the type of audience.
" Demonstrable understanding of the transport sector, relevant legislation and an awareness of developments in sustainable transport solutions.
This is a temporary position initially but for the right candidate a permanent contract can be offered.
