Keeping Leicestershire's vehicle fleet moving - the role of Team Manager for Driver and Vehicle Management plays a key part in the delivery of the Environment and Transport Department’s services, from Special Education Needs Transport to Network Maintenance.
The role is responsible for the provision, management and maintenance of the Council's vehicle fleet, including the management of our in-house workshop; ensuring that the service demonstrates value for money whilst complying with statutory duties and responsibilities.
You will play a key role in the management and leadership of the Department and act as the owner of the Council's "Operator Licence", defining driving standards and enforcing driver regulation and compliance as well as promoting a commercial approach to developing our services.
- Hold the Certificate of Professional Competence in Goods Transport or be willing to undertake the qualification
- Experience of managing a large, diverse and mobile workforce, where Health and Safety is of paramount importance
- Knowledge of current legislative requirements associated with Highways and Transportation
- A track record of successfully managing budgets in line with financial practices and polices
