Job Summary

We are looking to take on a Transport and Logistics Planning Manager.
This Is a key hands on leadership role which will be responsible for
Managing a small team of Transport Supervisors, Drivers and loading
team ensuring consistent working practices and delivery of performance
standards for all operational areas are met within the transport team.
Effective communication and positive relationships are critical, as is
the motivation and development of Supervisors, Drivers and loaders.

Responsibilities and Duties

(The key responsibilities of the role against which performance is
measured)

*

Ensuring the to deliver challenging targets for the quality,
customer, safety, productivity gain and KPI reporting daily,
weekly, and monthly.

*

Management of all stock problems reported from quality inspection

*

To complete a production report and to check and file driver
tachograph cards

*

To record all orders and allocate to vehicles

*

To ensure all loads or collections not carried out on the
specified day are carried out as a priority on the next working
day

*

To ensure vehicles are kept in a clean and tidy condition

*

To ensure driver compliance with the vehicle defect reporting
procedure

*

To check the accuracy and standard of documents returned from
drivers

*

To ensure a high quality of service to the Company's customers

*

To recommend ways in which efficiency and profitability may be
improved

Qualifications and Skills

*

Must have at least 2 years’ experience of managing a team from
within a similar background

*

Knowledge and understanding of the Road Traffic Act and
Environmental Protection Act

*

Experience of coaching and development

*

Practical experience at management level in a similar environment,
ideally experience from Automotive, FMCG, Furniture painting,
woodworking Proven experience of working with modern manufacturing
techniques and successfully managing change

*

Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety legislation

*

Hold a current CPC (desirable)
