We are currently recruiting for Transport Manager to work for a logistics business based in Grantham. Reporting directly to the Operations Director you will be responsible for a small team of HGV Drivers, a Transport Supervisor - inclusive of agency staff and ultimately take responsibility for the Service Delivery expectations.
If you are currently working as a HGV driver and feel it’s time to ‘come off the road’ this is the role for you! OR are you working as a Transport Administrator and hungry for progression?
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
You will lead, coach and motivate a team of drivers to provide an efficient internal and external customer service. Plan, organise and manage, dispatching, routing and tracking of delivery vehicles to meet business and customer requirements. Have an understanding of compliance with transport policies, procedures and legislations. Ensure the vehicle fleet is properly maintained and efficiently utilised. Ensure necessary documentation and records are kept. Manage and resolve queries efficiently and courteously. Adhere to legal requirements of fleet management
Proven experience in the Transport and logistics industry
Good Geographical knowledge
Good communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and own initiative
CPC qualification is required
