Job Title: Transport Manager
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
Tom Samuel are working on behalf of market leading third-party logistics business with an impressive portfolio of customers throughout the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to lead their operation, based in Kent.
As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Transport team ensuring a ‘Best in Class’ service is provided, whilst being the main customer liaison. You will be required to manage a large team of drivers working across a number of locations, whilst engaging the customer in all aspects of operational performance. The role will require a ‘hands on’ candidate, with the ability to think strategically and work cross functionally. Additional responsibilities of the Transport Manager include;
* Successfully execute the transport plan, ensuring OTIF deliveries.
* Manage all aspects of fleet compliance, in-line with O’licence requirements.
* Ensure HSE standards are adhered to at all times.
* Provide MI reports on operational and financial performance to Internal & External stakeholders.
* Support the business with all CI initiatives and change management projects.
To be considered for this role you must hold an International CPC qualification as you will be required to be the named O’Licence holder for this contract. You will need to have experience in working with a variety of internal departments to ensure a successful operation and be comfortable working both strategically and in a ‘hands on’ manor, at Transport Manager level. A key factor for this role is an individual that challenges process in the right way, suggesting well thought out improvement processes, driving a culture of engagement and continuous improvement. Multi-site and/or regional management experience is highly desirable, as is experience of working in 3PL transport operations.
