Clarke Transport is a family business – one of the leading privately owned multi-service transport organisations in the UK are looking for a Transport Manager for our depot in Oldbury, West Midlands.

As the Transport Manager, you will be:
Focused on improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the business and will have a large part in driving processes to achieve this.
Charged with ensuring compliance with Operator's License and associated Transport Legislation in respect of all transport issues within the depot.
Assisting the Depot Manager monitoring the depot budget, ensuring tight cost control
To setting and managing KPIs for staff ensuring that targets are met, and productivity is high across the board.
Managing a fleet of 60+ vehicles with the latest technology.
Maintaining Service levels
Taking full control over the operation of the depot Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays as operationally required)
Investigating operational failures and implementing continuous improvement
Managing health and safety
To be successful in the role of Transport Manager you will have:
Experience in running a Pallet Network or transport role within a fast-paced environment
Progressive continuous improvement mindset with the ability to solve problems
Strong management skills with the experience to build and motivate your shift team.
Must have up to date knowledge of transport legislation
Ability to lead and motivate multiple teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and numerical capability

20 Days plus 8 statutory holidays (28 days in total)
