This new Transport Manager role is a key position and is a result of the continued growth that these core values promote.

As the Transport Manager for the Midlands and the North your role will be responsible for the new operating centre in Droitwich ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of the daily operations. You will be based in the Droitwich Centre as your "office" but with frequent visits to the group's HQ in Newport as necessity dictates.

We have a range of vehicles across our 130 strong fleet that include Cat C & C+E vehicles and a combination trailers; Tilts, Curtain-sider, Slider, Low-loader, Flats, Skeletal & Platform Skeletal which are operated by our own employed drivers and agency drivers for you to work with and motivate.

The Transport Manager will work closely with HQ planning and operations to drive our efficiency's and cost savings by effective route planning, back loading and driver rostering. Growing new contracts through networking and proactive business development will be a key part of this role, visiting companies to promote services and set up new accounts.

You will analyse and evaluate management and business Information to properly resource our peak periods whilst reducing empty runs and unused driver hours. You will be an advocate for improved and efficient ways of working to maximise the value of our fleet in your area.

As Transport Manager you will report in to our MD and work closely with our group's compliance manager to maintain or improve driver standards, values and behaviours through engagement with your drivers. This position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference and be responsible for positive change. Improved and more efficient ways of working are encouraged.

This role is for someone who understands how to develop and grow a business, motivate staff and is able to efficiently prioritise pressing needs even where there isn't an obvious solution! Experience within operational road haulage, transhipping and a knowledge of transport governance and a TM CPC is critical. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects amongst your peers.
