A growing aggregates company located on the outskirts of Witham, Essex are seeking a Transport Manager to join their team, this role has arisen due to progression.
This family run company who have been established for 6 years and currently have a head count of around 10 staff.
This is a permanent role which is offering a competitive salary.
Hours of work:
Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm (must be flexible as you may be required to work Saturdays and longer hours in peak periods)
What is involved?
Maintenance of the fleet (such as tippers, lorries & concrete mixers etc)
Building a successful team - recruitment for staff such as drivers and transport planners etc
Planning routes for drivers daily and organising their schedules
Will be required to set up a computer system and work on this to set up the driver's schedule (routing software)
Managing drivers and procurement of vehicles
Getting involved in the development of team members
Setting up of computer processes so experience working with routing software is needed
Will have at least 2 years' experience working as a Front Line Transport Manager
Will be forward thinking and a self-starter
Experience working within an aggregates, waste or construction background is essential
Must hold a valid CPC Card
Flexible, self-starter, highly motivated & adaptable
Technically minded and knowledge with routing software
