Rullion Limited are currently recruiting on behalf of a large utilities company based in the North West for a Transport Manager on a 12 month contract basis. We have been providing our client with experienced individuals for over 15 years helping to deliver a high number of projects within the Industry.

The purpose of this role is to lead the Regional Response Team to deliver a safe and efficient response to requests of support from the Business. You will also ensure the operational plan is executed taking in to consideration driving legislation changes, business needs, to maintain and improve Regional Response Operations, as well as lead a team to carry out effective work planning and scheduling of the Regional Response Team.

Job Accountabilities
*Leading the Regional Response team and Team Leaders, ensuring regulations are adhered to and company targets are achieved.
*Working closely with the Regional Response Planning & Compliance Manager, to ensure an efficient operational Alternative Supplies strategy is in place and achieved.
*Performance management and training and development of direct reports in accordance with all Human Resource policies and procedures, including regular contact, one to one meetings, performance reviews etc.
*Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Plan.
* Carry out H&S briefings and audits, ensuring actions are implemented.
*Implementation of improvements plans and activities identified through the business plan development.
*Keep up to date with future changes in legislation governing transport and issues affecting the inter-works operation, identifying how this impacts on operations across the region
*Ensure the correct business processes and audit procedures are in place to ensure all vehicles are being utilised within the appropriate regulations.
*To be registered on and uphold requirements for the client's Transport License
*To ensure all Tier 1 customers have a site specific plan and plans are reviewed within relevant timescales
*Manage the effective planning and scheduling of the Regional Response Team for both planned and reactive requests

Knowledge and Skills
*The role holder will have a proven track record for delivery, with a relevant degree or equivalent qualifications
*Good knowledge of the regulations and codes of practice governing transport operations
*Qualified Transport Manager with relevant qualifications (CPC)
*Strong leadership and communication skills are required to motivate, performance manage and develop a team of people, including contractors, across large geographical areas, to achieve their maximum level of performance
*Strong health and safety focus with an understanding of relevant statutory requirements

Desirable Criteria
*Experience in work planning and scheduling
*A high level of managerial skill is required to ensure the delivery of financial plans, key performance targets and regulatory compliance
