A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer is currently recruiting a Transport Manager to lead the transport department on a permanent basis.
The Transport Manager will have full budget responsibility and will ensure compliance of transport legislation and best practice. The successful Transport Manager will hold a management CPC and will be a strong leader, able to influence with a passionate, driven attitude and excellent communication skills.
Transport Manager Responsibilities include:
Lead, motivate and develop the transport team ensuring KPI’s are achieved
Ensure compliance with and best practice of current transport legal legislation
Maintenance and repair of vehicles making sure they are legally compliant
Be responsible for the Operators Licence
MOT, VOSA inspections, vehicle insurance/tax compliance
ERP system usage
Maintain driver records and ensure licence checks are completed
Assess driver performance and fuel consumption
Drive Continuous improvement across the department
Full budget and cost control responsibility
You will be a Transport Manager with previous experience in a fast paced FMCG environment, responsible for a high volume of vehicles, drivers and routes. You will have a thorough knowledge of risk and safety procedures and legislation as well as transport legislation, working time and road traffic directive regulations.
