PURPOSE

• Run and manage the daily organisation of Trans2 Logistics Vehicle Fleet – working as part of a team of 3
• Plan transport orders and execute them in the most optimum way, organizing schedules and routes
• Hours of work – Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm with flexibility around the needs of the business – with on call mobile phone cover

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Lead, manage and develop the daily (transport related/planning) operations from the client’s depot
• Ensuring legal compliance with VOSA and DVSA regulations
• Monitoring transport costs
• Ongoing FORS compliance and staff training
• Managing and executing planned vehicle and equipment servicing
• Provide communication and information that supports the operational needs of the business
• Booking of Sub Contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms
• Report on operational activities on a regular basis to the Operations Director
• Ensure that environmental, health and safety, engineering and quality standards and procedures are adhered to

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

• National/International CPC Transport Licence (minimum requirement)

IDEAL SKILLS

• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to evaluate, explain and simplify situations
• Strong leadership skills, inspiring and encouraging teamwork
• A commercially astute and adept negotiator
• Fully competent with IT including Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Power point / Outlook)
• Clean full UK driving licence

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrable track record of successfully leading a transport company
• Modular & Abnormal Loads experience and knowledge (preferred)
• Experience of operating, contributing and influencing at an operational/strategic level
