The role holder will be responsible for developing Gatwick Airports Fleet Management strategy and procedures. The role will focus on the procurement, disposal and maintenance of Gatwick’s fleet ensuring alignment to Gatwick’s environmental strategy and policy. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to a team to ensure that goals focused on service expansion, continuous improvement and cost reduction are achieved.
An essential part of this role would be to decide on appropriate vehicle and plant solutions in order to meet operational /service needs, to procure best solutions by use of scientific and industry comparisons, ensuring specifications are fit for purpose. The role holder will develop good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including finance and technical experts and preferred suppliers.
