Head of Fleet Purchasing  – East Midlands Based – Commercial Fleet Management 

The Opportunity

A terrific new opportunity has been created within Essential Fleet Services, one of the UKs most ambitious and forward thinking fleet management companies. The company has recently received significant investment from highly respected PE backed investors giving this already successful company even more impetus to grow.

 

Essential is the leading provider of specialist vehicle contract hire and maintenance to the public and private sector, with a fleet size of over 3,500 HGVs and LCVs with strong growth ambitions.

Reporting to the Commercial Director and operating at a senior level in the organisation you will be required to:

  • Define and implement the organisation’s fleet purchasing strategy
  • Cultivate and manage key relationships with manufactures and dealers
  • Negotiate maximum value products and services 
  • Manage an annual capital budget in excess of £20 million
  • Increase our return on fleet investment
  • Ensure the highest levels of internal and external customer service excellence are maintained
  • Manage tender programmes to ensure cost optimisation throughout the supply chain process.
     

Knowledge and skills

Applicants must have worked in the contract hire, fleet management or fleet sales sector with knowledge of specialist HGV fleet. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have experience within the public sector arena and will ideally hold a CIPS accredited qualification and professional membership.

You must be able to manage commercial relationships at all levels and embrace the principles of customer service excellence.

Please note the role will involve regular travel therefore a full UK driving license is essential.
