Senior Editor - Cars

We need a first class Senior Editor - Cars, who will have ownership for the timely production of all Black Book (current used) valuations, ensuring they accurately reflect used vehicle market prices whilst incorporating emerging trends. The Senior Editor is responsible for the management of the Black Book team.

They will manage an editorial team to ensure processes and systems are fit for purpose as well as effectively manage relationships with customers, industry bodies and the media, ensuring accuracy and transparency are to the fore.

Key responsibilities

Provide the most accurate trade and retail used car values in the industry.

Effective team leadership and motivation through leadership, coaching and inspiration.

Support PR manager, strategy and activity.

Represent cap hpi at industry events to communicate current and future market trends.

Manage costs within budget.

Ensure there are robust quality control checks in place for all products.

Ensure that cap hpi is the lead organisation for manufacturers to call upon for market expertise.


Qualifications and experience

Experience of working within the UK motor industry, preferably within the remarketing arena.

Expert knowledge of motor vehicles and the associated variants down to a granular level.

Expert knowledge of the motoring sectors (OEMs, Finance, Insurance, Contract Hire and Leasing, Retail).

Proven track record of building relationships with industry bodies.

Experience in business writing.

Evidence of converting strategy to executable plans.

Experience in team leadership and motivation through leadership, coaching and inspiration.

Successful 3rd party relationship building & management.

Exemplary Presentation skills.

Excellent communication skills at all levels, clear and concise in approach (with commercial, insight and outcome focus).

Enthusiastic and positive.

Clear analytical thought process and a high standard of numeracy and literacy.
