An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified vehicle technician who is keen to grow and develop with the company in the role of Workshop Technician.

Summary of Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the depot operates efficiently and provides outstanding customer service. The work will require a high level of practical work on vehicles, as the daily needs require as well as managing the overall tidiness of the workshop and yard in conjunction with the administrative team.

A good knowledge of the commercial vehicle and truck industry is essential and knowledge of HGVs would also be highly desirable.

You will be responsible for workshop activities and for achieving the highest level of customer service, maintaining a clean, efficient workshop and achieving excellent standards of presentation.

The role involves ensuring the timely progress of jobs in the workshop, controlling the usage of consumable materials, ensuring jobs are completed in an effective manner, maintaining  a high productivity output and guaranteeing that all work carried out complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry health and safety guidelines.

You will be required to:

  • Prepare vehicles for MOT checks – doing all checks to ensure non-failure of all vehicles

  • Ensure the performance of workshop meets set KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and SLA (Service Level Agreements) targets

  • Have experience of working within the motor vehicle industry

  • Knowledge / experience of working in a team and on own initiative

  • An understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations

  • Ensuring WIPs deadlines are met and carried out in a cost effective manner.

Adhering to company`s Health and Safety regulations to prevent accidents within the workplace
