DIESEL sales to the fleet market fell further last month although the decline was smaller than in the retail sector. In September the total diesel market accounted for 25,487 - down 16.1% on September 1995's 30,368 total - with fleet accounting for 14,363 units - down 9.3% from 15,841 units. Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the year the total diesel market is down 11% at 296,987 on the 333,563 total of the first nine months of 1995 with fleet sales down 3.5% at 167,678 (173,754).
