Police go for DRIVE system

TWO police forces have become the first fleets to buy DRIVE fleet management software system, produced by FCS Computer Services. Essex Police and South Wales Police will start using the Oracle-based system within the next couple of months.

Ray Forsey, fleet manager of South Wales Police, said: 'Of all the systems we looked at, DRIVE looks very innovative and hopefully will take us five years hence - it has growth possibilities.' He was impressed that the system did not require vast amounts of work for the front end user in-putting data, and was functional for the end user.
