Colorado keeps up pressure on Land Rover and Mitsubishi

TOYOTA has revealed details of its new Landcruiser models, called the Colorado, on sale from August 8. It replaces both the 4Runner and the mid-sized Landcruiser II models and will target both the Land Rover Discovery and Mitsubishi Shogun.

The Landcruiser Colorado joins the larger Landcruiser GS/VX models as an addition to the range competing in the mid-sized sports utility market. Prices range from £19,990 to £32,990 plus £430 on the road charges. The vehicle features full-time four-wheel drive with centre and rear differential locks and offers a choice of three or five door body styles. Specification levels are GS, GX and VX with an automatic option and a choice between 3.0 litre turbodiesel or newly developed 3.4 litre V6 petrol engine.

Full on the road prices are: GS 3.0 diesel 3 dr manual, £20,420; GX 3.0 diesel, 3 dr manual, £24,420; 5 dr manual, £27,120; GX 3.0 diesel 5 dr automatic, £28,320; VX 3.0 diesel 5 dr automatic, £32,420; VX 3.4 V6 petrol 5 dr automatic, £33,420.
