CAP Motor Research's future residual values guide - Monitor - is stepping up pressure on the manufacturers to scrap delivery charges by publishing all-in prices.

The Association of Car Fleet Operators launched a campaign against delivery charges at this year's Fleet Show and more recently, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders conceded that car makers would drop them 'sooner rather than later'.

Rover, SEAT, Volkswagen and Saab responded earlier this year by publishing on-the-road or parallel prices, where all-in prices appear alongside list prices. CAP Monitor editor Richard Whittles said: 'This move levels the playing field and reflects the way the industry is moving - and in our view - should be moving.'
