REGIONAL newspaper publisher Trinity International Holdings has formed a new group fleet operation to run the company's expanded fleet of more than 1,400 vehicles.

The Liverpool-based company became the largest regional newspaper publishing company following the recent acquisition of a range of titles from Thomson Regional Newspapers. As a result its 600-strong fleet more than doubled overnight.

Group fleet manager Ron Eagle now heads up a team of three people responsible for the entire group's vehicle acquisition, control and disposals. In the past the fleet, which is primarily made up of cars with around 250 commercial vehicles, was split between regional offices. The centralisation, therefore, brings together vehicles from many different fleet set-ups and Eagle and his team are working to phase in a new standardised policy.
