Record profits for Quicks Group

MOTOR vehicle and parts distributor Quicks Group has reported record interim results for the six months to June 30. Pre-tax profits increased 11% to £3.1 million (1996: £2.79 million) on reduced turnover of £175.85 million (1996: £179.4 million).

The Manchester-based company reported trading levels ahead of last year and is the latest motor dealer to claim that August new car sales were 'encouraging'. The company also operates Ford Rapid Fit outlets, a parts operation and is bringing together its network of bodyshops into a new division called Quicks Body Shops.
