Training initiative could mean fall in insurance premiums

INSURANCE premiums could be coming down for fleets involved with new risk management partnerships. Cornhill Insurance Group and Guardian Insurance have teamed up with fleet training companies in an attempt to reduce claims and contain insurance costs.

Liberty Risk Services is working with Cornhill, offering classroom theory sessions and hands-on practical training for fleet drivers. A similar scheme is being run by BSM Fleet Training with Guardian. Liberty is confident it can reduce the number of accidents and director Roger Clark, formerly of RoSPA driving services, says fleet managers will reduce repair time and administration costs.

BSM in partnership with Guardian, is offering two different packages for larger (more than 250) and smaller fleets. Chris Reynolds, BSM's managing director, said: 'This initiative provides fleet decision-makers with a highly targeted programme of cost reduction measures. The in-built guarantee ensures it is an investment in both short and long term cost reduction.'
