LEX Transfleet has won a £25 million contract with Securicor Cash Services to manage its 1,776-strong van fleet. Of the 1,776 vehicles the vast majority are vans - 1,550 are Ford Transits, with the remaining 226 heavier commercial vehicles.

Lex Transfleet says this is a key deal following its shift into van management just 12 months ago, and now takes its van fleet above the 5,000 vehicle mark. The new national agreement with Securicor follows a successful trial period in the south west and London, where Lex Transfleet was given six months to demonstrate its maintenance, cost and service delivery systems, document control and time critical distress management services.

The trial was successful and has resulted in the five-year contract with the cash collection, processing and delivery service company. In the new partnership incentive payments linked directly to Lex Transfleet's performance will be shared between the two companies.
