LEX Vehicle Leasing has re-appointed Jon Walden as managing director, four years after he left the company. He succeeds Roy Fewster, who has left the Lex Service group to pursue 'new opportunities outside the group', according to a company statement.

Walden, who held a number of senior positions within the Lex group from 1982 to 1997, was managing director of Lex Vehicle Leasing between 1990 and 1995 when he left to join Lex Retail, where he stayed for two years. He left Lex following the sale of its volume dealerships and set up a consultancy called First Principles.

'In one sense it's like going back but I'm looking at it as going forward,' he said. 'Lex Vehicle Leasing has developed substantially over recent years and the marketplace is vibrant. I am looking forward to the many challenges and continued success of LVL.

The company is very different now: it is much bigger and it has a new partner in Halifax, rather than Lombard. I am also joining the Lex group at a very exciting time, with the company moving forward in a number of different businesses, including the potential acquisition of the RAC.'
