TWO of the leading associations that support the fleet industry this week threw their backing behind the Fleet Show and its new London location.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association and the Association of Car Fleet Operators gave their support to the event and backed the need for an annual industry showcase.

John Lewis, director-general of the BVRLA, which represents companies running more than two million vehicles, said: 'We are committed to Fleet Show and to making it a success. There is a need for a show and an industry forum. It allows the industry to see new products and services, talk with suppliers and also network. We expect it to be a well-attended show that is focused on business.'

The Association of Car Fleet Operators, which represents some of Britain's leading fleet managers, joined the BVRLA in supporting the show, and backed its continuing commitment to focusing on business.

Stewart Whyte, director of ACFO, said: 'It is a sound idea that the industry's main showcase should move back to London and focus on the business aspects of the industry. We expect many of our members will want to take the opportunity to come along and meet key suppliers, particularly in the service sector.'
