LONDON companies are opposed to Government plans to introduce workplace parking charges, even if the money raised is ring-fenced for investment in transport, according to a Confederation of British Industry survey. Sixty-six companies out of 303 responded to the survey, of which 68% said they were against a parking tax.

A further 14% said they would only support the measure if there were strict conditions attached to the use of the tax raised. 66% expected they would have to absorb the tax themselves. Some said they would have to pass the costs on to customers.
