ALEXANDERS Holdings has sold its motor retail vehicle unit to Ilkeston Consumer Co-operative Society for about £680,000 in cash.

The sale comes after the dealership group revealed at the beginning of the year that it had crashed into the red in the six months to September 30 last year.

Alexanders Holdings made a pre-tax loss of £1.08 million on £10.8 million turnover compared to a pre-tax profit of £11.8 million on turnover of £43 million for the same period last year.
