MINORPLANET, the producer of telematic-based vehicle management information systems, is trialling its devices with the BT fleet of 53,000 vehicles. If successful it could lead to its biggest yet order.

The move is part of a continuing push by the company to expand the number of customers signing up to its ground-breaking products. In a separate initiative, it has launched a strategic alliance with BT and BT Cellnet to add to alliances it already has with GE Capital Fleet Service, Aon, ITIS and Schmitz Cargobull.

Under the latest agreement, Minorplanet and BT will collaborate to develop mobile capabilities for the next generation of telematics services, including internet-based services. BT Cellnet and Minorplanet have agreed to capitalise on their markets by promoting each others' products.
