Telematics boost

HEATING and plumbing company Combserve Combustion Services is claiming it has saved £21,000 in annual insurance costs by installing a telematics system to the vehicles on its 14 strong fleet.

The firm installed Thales Telematics' Orchid fleet management solution, after it had suffered high premiums following a number of incidents. As well as tracking for security, the firm uses the system for time of arrival forecasting, scheduling and avoiding congestion problems. Jason Mitchell, general manager of Combserve Combustion Services said: 'The Orchid system has provided us with a range of benefits to reduce costs and improve customer service to ensure the company remains competitive.'
