FLEET decision-makers who put increasing efficiency at the top of their business wish-list can give themselves an early Christmas present by signing up for a new event.

Fleet News and its sister publication Fleet NewsNet are joining forces to offer fleet decision-makers an in-depth briefing on what the internet can do for their businesses at the Move Your Fleet Online conference.

The event will be held in association with the Chartered Institute of Supply and Purchasing and takes place on January 28 at the Heritage Motor Industry Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire.

It will be chaired by Christopher Macgowan, chief executive of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, and will examine the key issues fleet decision-makers will face in doing business on the internet and the services they can expect.

Speakers will address six of the main areas where fleet decision-makers could benefit from web-based service. An expert will highlight the main benefits and pitfalls of each area and there will also be in-depth case studies from fleets which have taken the plunge.

Among the speakers will be Robert Albright, strategic purchasing director for Royal Mail Group; Sandy Duckett, fleet business manager for Scottish Power; Mike O'Sullivan, business development manager for Ebbon-Dacs; and Daren Wiseman, managing editor – current data, for CAP.

  • Ticket prices for the day are £59 for fleet decision-makers and £79 for other industry professionals, but only for those booking early. From January 3, prices move up to £79 and £99 respectively. All figures are inclusive of VAT.
