MOTABILITY and road safety organisation Brake have given their backing to the Bootsafe range of safety products.

Bootsafe and Bootroll are containment systems for the rear of cars which keep equipment in place during an accident.

Without restraints in place, equipment would be thrown forward and hit passengers, risking serious injury even in low speed accidents.

Companies and organisations that have used Bootsafe include the Royal National Institute for the Blind and City of London Police.

Alan Miles, administration manager for the RNIB, said: 'We have 150 installed in our nationwide fleet of fundraising vehicles.

'It protects drivers in the event of an accident and the interior of the vehicle from high use to help maintain resale values.'
