ESTATE versions of the new Mazda6 will go on sale on September 1 at a £1,000 premium over the saloon and hatchback models.

The arrival of the estate coincides with the launch of two common rail diesel engines in the Mazda6 range – a 119 and 134bhp version of the 2.0- litre unit. Prices start at £14,995 on-the-road for the 2.0 Estate S, rising to £18,595 for the TS2 Diesel. The Mazda6 Sport4 Estate AWD will join the range in November.
