NISSAN'S revised Almera Tino is now on sale following changes that see a simplified model range and the inclusion of a 134bhp 2.2 dCi common rail diesel.

The Tino now has a new interior incorporating the N-FORM console found in the Primera and Almera and, with a choice of 111bhp and 134bhp diesel engines, offers common rail for the first time.

One petrol engine is now available – an improved version of the previous 1.8-litre – and an automatic version of this engine has replaced the 2.0-litre CVT. Top-of-the-range SVE models offer colour-screen satellite navigation and rear parking camera, as well as alloy wheels and leather/Alcantara trim.

Fuel consumption for the 1.8 manual is 36.7mpg (auto: 34.4) with carbon dioxide emissions of 183g/km (auto: 199g/km), while the low-power 2.2 dCi achieves 44.1mpg and 175g/km with 42.8mpg and 181g/km for the high-power 2.2dCi. Prices range from £12,995 on-the-road for the 1.8 S to £17,350 for the 2.2 dCi SVE (134bhp).
