Loweth builds up fleet with Ford Transits

BUILDING company Loweth has taken delivery of its 100th Ford vehicle on contract hire – a Transit 100 SWB van.

Loweth has a total fleet of 150 Ford vehicles – two-thirds on contract hire from Gates Contract Hire and the rest purchased outright.

Eighty per cent of the contract hire vehicles are Ford Transit and Ford Escort vans and the rest diesel Ford Mondeo and Ford Focus. Ford Transit Connects will soon start to replace the Escort vans.

The Transits are on four year/100,000-mile agreements with full maintenance and are supplied by Gates fully ply-lined and with ladder racks.

Loweth managing director Graham Scott said: 'We use Ford Transits because they are reliable and the right size, and we find them good value for money, both to run and to acquire.'
