INTERNET-based leasing firm Tuskerdirect is to a launch a major update of its service this year, backed by senior management changes.

Well-known industry figure Simon English has been taken on to head up the company. He was formerly a director with Kwik-Fit Fleet, which he joined in 2001 after leaving his role as managing director of Jessups Vehicle Contracts following its sale to Interleasing.

Tuskerdirect was launched in 2000 by two former GE Capital Fleet Services executives Tom Stephenson and Tim Grant, who were joint managing directors. They remain shareholders in the company, but have stepped down from their management roles. Tuskerdirect offers a range of web-based services, allowing fleet managers to order vehicles online and manage the fleet.

By putting fleet policies into the website, fleet decision-makers can give drivers power to pick cars that apply to their bandings.

Future plans have been influenced by consultation with customers on which aspects of the service could be improved or updated to enhance the company's offering.
