VAUXHALL is giving its green fuel operation a boost with the appointment of its first national Dualfuel manager.

Phil Hobbs, formerly Vauxhall fleet sales manager for central London, will head a team of three Dualfuel specialists. He was chosen for the role because of his experience of the London congestion charging scheme.

Paul Adler, Vauxhall's brand manager – fleet, said: 'We expect more towns and cities to follow the London example and we see this as a major opportunity to expand our Dualfuel sales.

'The appointment of a national sales manager with specific responsibility for Dualfuel reinforces our commitment to the fuel source and also our commitment to fleet operators throughout the country.'

The company claims to have 60% of LPG sales and its own LPG sales are up by more than 60% year on year. Its range takes in Astra, Astra Coupe, Zafira and Vectra cars, along with the Astravan and Combo van. A 1.2-litre Corsa is next to join the line-up.
