First look at new Vauxhall Astra

VAUXHALL has revealed pictures of the new Astra which goes on sale in the UK next spring.

It includes adaptive forward lighting (AFL) headlamps, automatic headlamp activation and new Twinport petrol and common rail diesel engines.

There is more passenger space than the outgoing model and power outputs will range from 80bhp to 200bhp.

New engines include a 150bhp 1.9-litre CDTi turbo-diesel and a 170bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol, while the 200bhp motor will arrive in 2005.

The five-door model will be followed by an estate and a sporty three-door version.
