LEASEDRIVE has created a new fleet management division and appointed Ivor Johnson as its general manager.

The Leasedrive group was subject to a recent £45 million management buy-out and as previously reported on Fleet NewsNet aims to have a 'dramatic impact' on the fleet management market, backed by state-of-the-art systems.

Johnson was previously managing director of Fleet Logistics UK, a fleet management business he set up in March 1997.

After returning a profit in 1999, he acquired the business from joint investor Moores Rowland in March 2000 before selling it a month later to FCE.

Chief operating officer, David Bird, said: 'Ivor is undoubtedly one of the most talented and skilled professionals in the industry. We are proud to have attracted such a high calibre individual, especially as he has come from a business he established.

'With his unique skill sets, we expect him to make a major contribution to the development of our overall business strategy.'
