• CONTRACT hire and fleet management group Tuskerdirect has appointed David Hosking as sales and marketing director. The appointment of Hosking, formerly sales director and board member of Highway Vehicle Management, completes the management line-up at Tuskerdirect. Simon English is managing director and Stuart Walton is finance director.

  • FLEET News road tester and deputy production editor Julian Kirk leaves the title at the end of the month to join car magazine Evo. Kirk joined Fleet News four years ago after spending five years as a journalist in local newspapers. He joins Evo as sub-editor.

  • GRAEME Bisset has been appointed non-executive chairman at internet tyre retailer Black Circles. Bisset formerly worked as group finance director at Kwik-Fit Group and will be responsible for Black Circles' strategic direction and operations. He will work closely with the group's managing director, Michael Welch.

  • STS STAPLETON'S Tyres & Exhausts has promoted Nigel Hopwood to regional manager. Hopwood will be responsible for sales across the group's 17 depots, maintaining and developing customer relations and implementing new staff and customer initiatives.
    Prior to his promotion, Hopwood was a depot manager at STS Dereham, working in the commercial and agricultural arms. He also brings 21 years of motor industry experience – six gained within the tyre trade business.

  • FORMER Fleet News Award winner Andy Price has joined Zurich Risk Services as senior risk consultant for its Motor Fleet Risk Practice.
    Price joins Zurich from his own consultancy, where he was responsible for helping companies manage occupational road risk. He also has 11 years' industry experience gained by developing occupational road risk processes to improve driver safety.

  • ANDY Hale has joined vehicle data supplier Autofutura as sales director.
    Hale previously held the position of European sales director at International Decision Systems, formerly Henley Systems, where he worked from 1996 until 2002. In his new role, Hale will be responsible for the sales and marketing of the Autofutura product range, primarily to the top 50 leasing companies in the UK, along with motor manufacturers and large fleet operators. Hale also plans to build a solid client base for the company and promote awareness within its target market.

  • NATIONAL vehicle rental group TLS has appointed a new operations manager to run its Chester branch. Steve Wilson has been promoted to the role and has been with TLS for six years. Wilson began as rental agent at the group's Preston branch before progressing to operations manager at the Salford centre.
