    Audi A4

SALOONS and Avants get a thorough refresh for 2005 with new engines and sleeker looks. All diesels will be Euro IV compliant with the range kicking off with a 115bhp 1.9 TDI, stepping up to a 140bhp 2.0 TDI, a 163bhp 2.5 TDI and a range-topping 204bhp 3.0 TDI. The petrol offering is boosted by a new 200bhp 2.0 T FSI while Audi has reworked the suspension for a more composed ride. Convertibles continue in their current form.

    Citroen C4

CITROEN’S contender for the 2005 European Car of the Year shares its platform with the Peugeot 307 but is a much more radical design and offers cutting-edge technology also found in the recently revised Citroen C5. It means customers will be able to choose a practical five-door or a racy three-door coupe with cornering headlamps and Citroen’s new lane departure warning system (LDWS) among its safety features.
