FORD'S new Focus C-MAX MPV the has made its auction debut. Nine 03/53 C-MAX models were sold with 1.8 Zetecs achieving on average £11,400 and the 1.8 LX models £10,800. The new Sportka achieved £8,475.

The closed sale at Manheim Auctions Colchester, attracted more than 60 approved Ford dealers and buyers keen to grab the first used C-MAX cars. Prior to the auction, all vehicles were completely open to inspection and could be test-driven.

Craig Mailey, director of buyer services for Manheim Auctions, said: 'The appraisal session was designed to give our customers complete assurance in the vehicles they purchase. We believe the success of this was reflected in the 100% conversion.'

Commenting on the success of the auction, Chris Shambrook, auction manager for Ford of Britain, said: 'Letting customers inspect and drive similar vehicles beforehand served to reinforce buyers' confidence in the latest Ford products.'
