The ups and downs of LCV sales

LIGHT commercial vehicle registrations dropped by 1.9% in January, latest figures reveal.

Sales in most of the main markets were down, particularly in Italy, which dropped 16.1%, although Spain noted a sales increase of 10.3%.

The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), which produced the figures, said: 'With regard to the smaller markets, improvements were noted for Denmark (+18%), Finland (11%) and Austria (1.1%).

All other EU countries reported drops, ranging from -2.1% in the Netherlands to -16.9% in Sweden.'
