THE first quarter of 2004 was one of the most consistently strong on record for commercial sales, according to BCA.

Duncan Ward, BCA's UK business development manager, commercial vehicles, said: 'High demand and good volumes mean the churn in the marketplace is exceptional and our corporate customers are enjoying strong support from buyers.

Late-year, low-mileage vehicles are in desperately short supply and buyers are having to compete strongly whenever stock reaches the marketplace.

'The most recent Thursday sale at BCA Blackbushe saw good conversions and some excellent prices for Lex Vehicle Leasing, LloydsTSB autolease and Citroen UK.

BCA Measham has also recorded some first-class results, with Renault Financial Services, Renault UK and Renault Retail combining for a mid-month sale that converted 93%, 100% and 88% respectively.

A new sales programme for Lex Business Partner – joining with Lex Vehicle Leasing and Lex Defence at Measham – also performed strongly, with stock achieving in excess of 140% of CAP.'
