THE RAC Foundation is calling on the Scottish Executive to concentrate on enforcement, road improvements and education.

The announcement follows statistics that have shown a 9% increase in the number of deaths on Scottish roads during the past year. Sue Nicholson, head of campaigns for the RAC Foundation, said: 'We need to increase the number of traffic officers and introduce national speed awareness courses, as a means of changing driver behaviour.'
