Voicemap
THE Voicemap system uses a combination of mobile phone and satellite tracking technology to guide drivers to a destination.
Drivers call a hotline to speak to a trained adviser who will establish where the caller is using up-to-the-minute mapping data. The adviser can either direct drivers to their destinations over the phone on a turn-by-turn basis or directions can be left on the caller’s voicemail system and accessed at points throughout the journey.
Fleets can set up a corporate account for all drivers with a monthly invoice sent direct to the company.

Webraska PsiNav Pro
WEBRASKA’S PsiNav Pro system provides turn-by-turn navigation instructions using an in-cab audio-visual system.
Drivers are guided to a given address but the system also enables delivery fleets to record signatures and barcodes as proof of delivery. PsiNav Pro can also predict the driver’s estimated arrival time (ETA) at set destinations. The system then automatically alerts customers of delivery arrival times via text messaging or e-mail.
Additional features include route calculation, prioritising delivery jobs, information delivered via an audio system or on a ‘net pad’, auto re-route, traffic updates and automated changes to ETAs.

Blaupunkt Travelpilot E1
BLAUPUNKT’S in-car satellite navigation system combines radio, CD and route guidance in one unit. The system has to be installed, but Blaupunkt claims it easily fits into the standard radio compartment of most vehicles.
The system enables drivers to choose fast, short or optimum routes. The optimum function takes distance and time into consideration and offers the best route. It is possible to play CDs while navigating as the Travel Pilot stores data once the route has been calculated.
Audio instructions and directional arrows on the display guide drivers, with destinations entered using either postcodes or streets.

Thales Magellan RoadMate 700
THALES Magellan RoadMate 700 is a plug-and-drive portable navigation system using the cigarette lighter socket. It uses voice-prompted turn-by-turn instructions backed by a colour touch-screen display.
Additional features include European maps covering 17 countries, multiple language support and a special address mode for address entry.
Infra-red connection also enables drivers to transfer address data from a Personal Data Assistant (PDA) or a smart phone.
Drivers either enter an address or choose from points of interest such as restaurants or hotels. The route is displayed either by text directions or as a graphic image on the display.

Wayfinder Mobile Navigator
THE Wayfinder Mobile Navigator uses GPS technology to guide drivers using their mobile phones.
Wayfinder gives voice instructions and positions taken from place names and postcodes, guiding drivers using turn-by-turn directions.
The directions are given via audio instructions or drivers can view maps on the mobile phone’s display. Once activated, drivers are able to continue using their mobile phone with a car kit while Wayfinder is working.
The system can also be used when drivers are out of their vehicle and is accessible anywhere in western Europe.
Mobile phones must be ‘symbian’ equipped but this includes a range of Nokias, Sony Ericsson and Siemens.

Medion MDPPC 250
THE Medion MDPPC 250 system is a portable unit which plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. It can be fitted to any vehicle and will guide drivers anywhere around the UK using voice commands and a colour display.
Additional functions are available, including Windows Mobile software for pocket PCs. This enables drivers to create Word and Excel documents, keep track of appointments and listen to music in MP3 format.
The unit also comes with a car cradle that can be mounted onto the windscreen with a bracket and rubber sucker.
