NOVELTY vehicle rental firm Cummfy Banana has signed a breakdown coverage deal with AA Business Services.

The Berkshire-based firm designs and hires out unique road-legal advertising vehicles, including motorised beds, sofas and shopping trollies.

Cummfy Banana’s managing director Edd China said: ‘Luckily, we have only needed assistance once so far, when AA Business Services recovered our ‘Robomow’ robotic lawnmower promotional vehicle enabling us to replace a broken part in time for some TV filming the next day.

‘People seem to love seeing our eccentric vehicles on the road, with the ‘Street Sleeper’ bed and ‘Casual Lofa’ sofa being the public’s favourites. Our vehicles bring smiles to people’s faces and they wave, shout and sometimes even bow when we go past.’

Roger Williams, head of major fleets and leasing at AA Business Services, said: ‘We have been called to some very unusual situations, so dealing with a giant shopping trolley or motorised sofa is just business as usual.’
