Web watch: we review what's hot on the net

THE new GRS website was launched this month with a host of new features aimed at used car and light commercial vehicle dealers. The company says they can now purchase vehicles through the new site by registering online, unlocking unlimited access to vehicle stock.

You can only register to buy stock online if you are part of the motor industry. This only takes a few minutes and registration details are sent to your inbox. The new website is updated in real time, so as soon as GRS accepts new stock, it is placed on the site.

Jump straight to the ‘View Stock’ section and you will realise just how detailed a search can be. The amount of dropdown box options is not only impressive but also provides enough variables to find exactly what you need. Each time you select a variable, the righthand side of the page refreshes, in case the vehicle you are looking for comes up before you finish inputting all your data – another time-saving factor.

The site offers a picture of every vehicle on sale, including a full list of specifications, and each vehicle on the stock list features a ‘Request call back’ service if you want more detail. You can add as many vehicles as you like to your shopping basket.

Once a vehicle has been chosen, dealers can choose an option for transport and these costs, including a VAT breakdown, will be added to the bill.

An email confirmation is sent out and the vehicles are immediately taken off sale. The status of the purchase can be checked at any time online.

This compact site offers a lot of information in a very tight design – every aspect seems to be aimed at getting information quickly and with the least amount of hassle.
