FORD has confirmed it will put its SAV Concept into production as it seeks to reinvigorate its offering in the large car market.

With the upper-medium segment – a key Ford fleet stronghold with the Mondeo – shrinking in size and popularity, Ford has recognised it needs to offer drivers an alternative to the traditional saloon.

The production version of the SAV Concept will be positioned between the Mondeo and Galaxy MPV. The name and full technical details of the car will be announced closer to its launch in the first half of 2006.

It will offer up to seven seats in two or three rows.
