Alan Basham, fleet administrator, Ellenor Foundation.

Describe your fleet.
I’m responsible for 22 cars for the Ellenor Foundation, a charity in Dartford, and I’ve been dealing with the fleet for nearly three years.

What has been your career highlight so far?
Being given the responsibility to take on our fleet and formulate procedures. I didn’t initially join the foundation as fleet administrator but it’s an area that interests me.

Have you made any career moves you’ve regretted?
Not that I can think of. Every move brings experience that is always of benefit.

How is the industry changing?
Technology can make certain things easier, be it satellite navigation or online booking of services, but this can also bring its own problems as people expect more to be done in less time. Increased legislation is another issue that the industry is facing and will need to adapt further.

What piece of technology can you not do without?
Apart from my own car, the internet is of enormous benefit and a great help to drivers when planning a journey.
